Labyrinth (1986)

I loved this movie as a kid and I love it still—though adults watching it for the first time now might wonder why anyone other than a toddler would feel that way.

I'll tell you why: There is no better way to sing and "Magic Dance" your way through a nostalgic weekend afternoon than to do so with a mulleted David Bowie in Goblin-wear and tall boots; a young, overacting Jennifer Connolly and creepy little Muppets than with this Jim Henson-directed, George Lucas-produced children's fantasy romp.

Just watch out for nightmares afterward; the puppeted creatures could give kids a fright, and Bowie's nuthugging pants are scary for folks of any age.
