Eight local playwrights, eight directors and about 40 local actors gather the evening before the performance for a lottery that will determine the genre, line of dialogue and prop that must be used in an original, 10-minute play. The playwrights have approximately 12 hours to write the play. The following morning, all participants gather for a second lottery that decides who will direct and perform in each play. The teams have approximately eight hours to rehearse and be show ready by that evening. Each production is adjudicated by a local "celebrity" judge, and the audience gets to vote on their favorite show. All of the proceeds directly benefit the Idaho Foodbank.
