Xavier Rudd at Knitting Factory tonight

Xavier Rudd, who strums a mean guitar, blows a mean didgeridoo and percussion and pounds the percussion, brings the party to Boise tonight with his "Dark Shades of Blue" world tour.

The bearded surf-and-sun-blond musician has opened for the likes of Ben Harper, Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson and has found the sweet spot with audiences as he plays slide guitar, didgeridoo and percussion all at the same time. He mixes aboriginal sounds, rock, reggae (he covers "No Woman, No Cry")and strong vocals to create a mix that is unlike much of anything else out there.

Tonight, with Jeremy Fisher. Show starts a 8 p.m., tickets are $18.50 advance, $20 door, Knitting Factory.
