Predictions for 2008

I put this in the politics section, but go ahead and predict anything you think may happen in 2008, then we can all come back and look at things that come true or turn out to be duds. Remember, lets make this fun and not a big gotcha thing. Making predictions is hard enough, but something tells me that 2008 is going to be even more challenging than "normal". I'll start...and most likely add more later.

1) Gasoline will top $4 per gallon, and Oil will top $120 per barrel.

2) Depending on who wins the nominations of the two big corrupt parties, we will see an interesting three, and possibly even four-way race for the Presidency.

3) Democrats, despite being hideous piles of shit, will maintain control of congress.

4) After dodging really nasty hurricanes for the past two years, there will be at least one this year.

Hmmm...that's all for now.

But the economy is going to get worse??? Isn't that like saying we'll all get a little bit more frustrated with soulless self-serving politicians?

I need to do a death prediction...I was thinking of going with Ted Stevens, but I'm totally compelled to go with Larry King.

5) Larry King is going to kick the bucket.

3. China will send 2 astronauts into orbit.
4. Larry King looks like a cadaver already, so I'll agree with the death pool.I think maybe it's Elizabeth Taylor's year,too. Ruport Murdoch makes it a trifecta.
5. Stock market will drop below 10k.
6. Oil will go to $165/barrel.
7. Breakthrough in cancer research involving an accidental discovery about DNA.
8. More states will legalize medical marijuana.
9. Bill O'Reilly will have a stroke. He won't die, but will be speechless, much to everyone's great relief.
10. Tsunami after Drivesme's earthquake.
11. Accidental nuclear detonation (Israel?) will scare the crap out of people and compel some serious peace talks.
12. President Edwards will anounce the closure of Guantanamo as his first official act.
13. Housing prices contnue to fall as foreclosures continue to rise.
14. Terrorist attack at Beijing Olympics.
15. Super hurricane hits Miami.

Wow! Now those are some predictions. Good Job. Oil at $165 per barrel would pretty much put an end to our stupid economy I think. What would that be, like 8-12 dollar per gallon gas? Imagine the tantrum people would throw.

I think you are right for sure on #13. The only question is how bad will it be?

A Romney win sounds like another national nightmare to me.
