Per BSU's survey. Otter's tax measure doesn't help the poorest Idahoans at all. The Idaho GOP simply has no shame in placing Idaho at the bottom of the list in education, health care, and care for the needy.
Idaho is such a rich state why would they need a tax increase ? It is interesting that Idaho's poorest don't qualify for the $20grocery-tax break money because they don't make enuf money to file income tax returns.
Look at the taxpayer's money wastefully being spent, thanks to the REPUBLICAN LEGISLATURE, to rebuild the capital bldg. Ever notice the great roads in Fairfield compared to the chewed up roads in Ada County? What about that decade old hole in the middle of the capital city? Who is paying for Boise's proposed Kayak WATER PARK or the proposed entertainment center in the old train station? Convention Centers, in towns like Boise, have met with economic failure nationally. Why is Boise planning to build one?

You have mentioned this on two threads. Do you have a link to the poll? I would like to read it.

Gus, go back a couple of summers to when then temporary governor Jim Risch called a special session of the Idaho legislature to give a tax break to property owners here in Idaho. Of course it also covered people from out of state who own property in Idaho and of COURSE Corporate property.
Did you note that recently homeowners and those who own rental property were assessed UPWARD on their property value? My rent has increased TWICE in just a little over a years time. It obviously didn't affect landlords, they simply pass the burdon on to their tenants. Then other property owners haven't really gotten a break either, have they? The Republicans give what they consider a tax break, the government assessors reevaluate property values upward, the only ones who I see as gaining were the corporations and all they did was shift MORE of the tax burdon on the low and middle income families.
Your point about the convention center is also well taken. What do we need with ANOTHER convention center? There are enough venues downtown to handle it.
