This is a really interesting set of data. The National Taxpayers Union evaluated all the candidates promises and then applied the spending to the current tax baseline. Here is the chart:

Here is the link to the data source:

I think Paul is loopy. No, I only post to provide real numbers on proposals. Many folk claim the dems are more fiscally responsible than the out of control spend happy republicans. Either the dems do not intend to carry out their promises or they do indeed plan to spend many times more money then the republican candidates.

Who Cares? Since when does a Presidential Candidate's "Promises" during a Campaign have anything whatsoever to do with REALITY once they get elected?

Remember George W. Bush saying any of these during his Presidential "CAMPAIGN:"

1. That he would make "health insurance affordable for hardworking, low-income
families?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Website]

2. That Bush would establish the "Healthy Communities Innovation Fund" to proivde $500M in gransts over fives years to fund projects targeted health risks, such as childhood diabetes? [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Website]

3. That Bush would ensure that the Federal Government complies with all environmental laws?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Website]

4. That Bush would "fully fund the Pell grant program for first year students by increasing the maximum grant amount by more than 50%, to $5.100?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000-Education Website]

5. With regard to Judicial Rhetoric, Bush promised "To restore confidence in government, George W. Bush will...return civility to the Judicial nomination process?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Website]

6. "Governor Bush's income tax cuts will benefit ALL Americans, but they are especially focused on low and moderate income families?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Taxes Website]

7. "As President, Governor Bush will pay the debt down to a historically low level?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Website]

8. AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE: "The Social Security surplus must be locked away only for Social Security?" [Source: Bush-Cheney 2000 Website]

Come on Jim, you know better than that!
