WOW....What a great debate tonight between Senator Clinton and Senator Obama. They both made every Democrat Proud to be a Democrat. And I wouldn't doubt that they also made many Independents and even Republicans wish they were a Democrat!
They were both extremely intelligent, articulate and completely aware of issues and policies. They were also extremely cordial, kind and courteous to each other.
All the BS on this Forum about these two "Hating" each other, is Just That...BS!
Senator Obama started out immediately with his opening statement saying..."Senator Clinton and I were friends Before this Campaign started, and Senator Clinton and I will be friends After this Campaign is over."
Senator Clinton went on to say that when this Campaign is Over, Both of the Democratic Candidates will support whoever wins the Nomination.
These two Wonderful Candidates set a Great Example of how you can debate, discuss and disagree without all the vitriolic hyperbole. JimV, I sure hope you were watching.

They made the white stodgy males of the GOP look like relics of the past.

My favorite line of the night was when Senator Clinton was asked about having a Bush, a Clinton, a Bush and then another Clinton in The Whitehouse, she said:
"It took a Clinton to clean up after the First Bush, I think it may also take a Clinton to clean up after the 2nd Bush."
GREAT RESPONSE!!!!

Obama's response to her vote to allow Bush to attack Iraq was also on spot.

I am not sure if it is helpful or not but for the first time in it's history this organization has voted to back a presidential candidate (http://www.moveon.org/), Barak Obama...
In the Idaho Statesman today (http://www.idahostatesman.com/letters/story/281889.html) SHERMAN AND BONITA CAMPBELL of Eagle said something quite well....
My wife and I have been listening to Barack Obama's speeches. He goes on and on about "change we can believe in."
Just what change is he proposing? He never says what he is going to do. Is he going to leave that up to his vice president like Bush did? Remember, Bush was going to give us change, and did he ever. Obama gives great speeches, but do speeches make for a good presidential leader? He says he was always against the war in Iraq and would have voted against it, but he wasn't there to hear all of the lies fed to Congress that convinced them to vote "yes." Had he been there at the time and being a freshman senator, we doubt that he would have stood up and said "no."
We need a president with experience to get us out of this country's mess. Our country elected an inexperienced hale fellow well met eight years ago. and look where that got us.
Interesting about MOVEON backing Barack Obama. Remember that he also missed the politically charged vote on deciding whether or not to condemn MoveOn for it's ad blasting Petraeus. Obama was present for the vote that came just moments before the MoveOn one. He voted for the Boxer measure condemning the attack on Petraeus and all other members of the military.
Surely the far more difficult one politically which he missed could have made a difference by alienating MOVEON. The Boxer measure is explainable, since it's a condemnation of all political attacks on military figures. Do you think there was a real scheduling explanation on this also?

LOL....Ya gotta love the media. They are getting rather "annoyed" at the fact that THIS TIME, the American People have decided that THEY will decide who gets elected President and NOT the Darlings of the Media.
I love Maureen Dowd. She is cleaver and witty and I look forward to reading her columns every chance I get. However, her hatred for Senator Clinton is well known, and almost as strong as her hatred for George W. Bush.
But either way, I still love reading her columns, no matter who's she's bashing, as she does with great style and wonderful wit.
