It's not so hard to understand -- the product was down. Not enough movies out there that we "had to see."
BIRDMAN became pointless in its third act. That window scene -- did he really "soar" spiritually or not. Since the film couldn't show us, it reveals it had no idea which it was, and therefore, the meaningless ending was yet another stunt like the "one shot illusion" stunt and the "Times Square Tightie-Whitie Sprint" stunt.
BOYHOOD, IMITATION GAME, and SELMA were better films simply because they didn't collapse in on themselves in their final minutes, but not artsy-fartsy/offbeat enough for the Hollywood ilk.
FIFTY SHADES OF GARBAGE - How the film managed to be worse than the book is a monumental feat.
Chris Kyle was just another thug with a gun. It's sad to me that this is a person who our culture chooses to celebrate.
Russia is like the nation which might have been. The commie delay was at least 70 years... and now a genuine goon is in charge. Please do not mistake the Russian people with the Russian leadership goons.
Is this the movie with Oprah in it?
You really should have rethought this before you published it. Portlandia is a lot like a lot of things but minstrel show ain't one of em. Whomever is the editor at BW either didn't see this before it went live or is equally out of touch with the difference between a minstrel show and PORTLANDIA. I live in Portland but have spent much time in Boise and am usually stoked on BW articles but this is just a malformed hypothesis that doesn't hold up to the level of quality in journalism Im used to from BW.
To put it bluntly: the main difference between the two is that Portland is thriving because of Portlandia, and African Americans suffered because of minstrel shows. Portlandia is a symbol of Portlands achievements in entrepreneurial endeavors and stance on progressive politics while minstrel shows were cruel jokes meant to shame and insult an entire race of humans. Portlandia is a love letter to Portland while Minstel shows were kind of a hate letter to African Americans. If anything Portlandia is kinda the opposite of a minstel show...
The comparison is ludicrous and ill thought through. It's not like reprehensible or gonna make me stop reading BW, it's just immature and ignorant and has no place in such a fine publication.
I just wrote a letter to ABC. We should all go to their website and take them to task for such repugnant practices. Go here: http://abc.go.com/feedback
"ask yourself if you're laughing for the right reasons. And there's a good chance you aren't"
A) who cares
B) who are you?
Sony's mindless and unfunny assassination comedy "The Interview" wil not be appearing in movie theaters. You all know why. Korea is very close to Japan, and the threats of an attack on the scale of 9/11 should not be ignored.
I enjoy watching Marco Polo. Even figured out how to change my Netflix region and access thousands of more movies on Netflix after reading this http://goo.gl/61XxEk
Sony's demands are too funny! Admit it, Sony. You have lost this one.

Liberals live to be offended.
Hopefully since we are receiving less channels, that will be reflected in our monthly bill.
Well, that's the final straw for us Dish is out of here tomorrow.
"We regret the service disruption to our customers, and remain committed to reaching an agreement that promptly returns this content to Dish's programming lineup." In the meantime, rates will remain the same.
Cable One has no problem collecting their full service fee, which is much higher than other TV viewing services, then they want to provide less value to their customers for the same price. These new channels are "CRAP" and they know it. I can no longer view any of the shows I normally watch, so several of my relatives and friends in the neighborhood are searching for a better service. We are through with substandard service after years of being customers with Cable One. Look for a cancellation of service in the College Park area of Gulfport, MS. What's next? You suck for not getting your customer's feedback and just turning off the channels we paid for in the middle of the month. Turner, Viacom and whose next?
Kudos to Cable One for fighting this battle. It is outrageous for the network to be loosing viewership and demand such price increases, which would be passed on the customer anyway. Companies like Viacom and Turner are opposing federal legislation to require a-la-carte programming options and pricing, because they want us to pay for hundreds of channels of crap, just so we can watch the 12 out of 300 channels that are actually good.
I THINK THAT THIS IS BULLSHIT... LAST YEAR WE LOST TURNER CHANNELS. NOW THIS,,,, I AM SO SICK OF CABLE ONE... HAVE WE HAVE HAD NO COMPASATION....
