A friend who is an technical operator for Micron several years ago, had their entire fab fired. On their final paycheck Micron had a business card for a temp agency, 3/4's of them went there and found out that Micron had sent their files over and was willing to rehire every one from the fab, some even got a small pay raise. Unfortunately they lost they health insurance, 401k, stock options, and bonuses, and Micron saved money by only having to pay salaries not benefits. Local Greed is wonderful!
Wow. What a story. Now, as for immunosuppresants...I did a lot of research on an autoimmune disease years ago, and worked up a "pharmaco-nutritional" alternative. Today, I can hardly understand what I wrote back then (it was a pretty technical paper), but the core of it was a high dosage of Omega-3's (best via flax oil), which, over time, decreases inflammation while increasing immune response (a difficult combination to find). Then there was some Superoxide Dismutate, other elements. I can send the link to the paper, which is online, if anyone is interested.
I just recently found out I have PSC, im a 31 year old female mother of two young boys, 11 and 2 year's old. So im worried as to what my journey will be. I dont know what to think its all so.....surreal. I do have to go through more tests as far as to see how serious it is and whats next. I guess im just writing looking for any reason to believe that I can survive this.
This is yet another sign of the times.
Temp agencies are right there along side the payday loan shops as fellow bottom feeders, parasitizing those on hard times, making their times even worse.
And companies like Bacardi are not unusual in their own parasitic use of workers.
In the current economy many employers are taking increasing advantage of even their full time employees.
The goal more and more seems to be to push the envelope on how much abuse employees will take.
It just goes to prove that without some sort of government regulation and legal consequences it isn't long before many companies will morph the work environment back to the slave like state of early industrialization.
We're clearly headed that way when you look at all the companies that have moved their factories to China, India and other third world countries, to take advantage of low wage , abused workers with zero rights.
Free market capitalism is a wonderful thing to behold isn't it?
As long as you're at the top of the heap of abusers and parasites.
Greed is Good and don't forget it!
It's kind of funny why they're almost always referred to as 'hot tamales' as they really aren't spicy or 'hot' at all, and are not meant to be.
What a complete an utter goofball
I truly believe that when the audience began singing along with her, she felt more strength to the point of not wanting to stop at all!
Thank you Kelsey for your excellent journalism and artful rendering of this heart warming story! I wanted to add too that if anyone would like to donate to the project, they can do so here: http://www.payitsquare.com/collect-page/19…. THANK YOU and Happy Holidays to one and all!
I am happy to discuss my experience with others facing this challenge. Pat Casey 350-9120
Killing a seal is the same thing as killing any other wild animal. I don't understand how come people are still listening to activists like Anderson. Simply ridiculous how humans don't use there common sense!
Plus, I haven't herd about activist giving money to stop killing baby veals and lambs... probably because they would look dumb! and it wouldn't make them raise millions! BTW no one kills white baby seals since decades!!!!
does anyone make sweet tamales ("dulces") around boise? I grew up in southern California, and the pineapple or other fruit tamales were always my favorites over most of the meat-based ones. last time I had a dulce tamal, it was in cancun. :( thanks!
So much for actual science being taught......the first 5 of the 6 types of evolution don't hold up scientifically...but THAT shouldn't matter!....we'll teach it ANYWAY!
If, as a scientist, I have a theory that doesn't hold up to the 4 tennents that define what is or is not scientific, I THROW THE BAD THEORY OUT and make a new theory.
EVOLUTION IS A RELIGION it is not scientific by any means, but it does meet all 4 tennents of a RELIGION.
GET YOUR EVOLUTION RELIGION OUT OF MY SCHOOLS!
All of that is known before the surgery is performed. Immune suppressants are precarious at times.. but are live saving and quality of life can be very good. Don't be afraid ... accept the generosity of others. Life giving life.. what a better gift for the giver!
My brother in law has PSC and was told a living donation likely wouldn't help him, that really a whole liver is the only option. Yes, with PSC there is risk that the new liver may be impacted the same as the original, and there are also so many risks associated with receiving a transplant. It's hard to know how one would act in this situation, though. I guess I agree with the donor in this story... how could you know you have a chance to save someone and not take it? I applaud her generous spirit and bravery, and best wishes to Casey. PSC is a horrible disease, and it certainly needs more attention and more focus on finding a cure.
This study shows that PSC might be more likely to reoccur with living donors as opposed to deceased donors, but more research is definitely necessary: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1724138… This study says that even with deceased donors and whole livers, the rate of reoccurrance is about 20%, really quite high: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2124863…
I have been ordering from El Torito for the past 3 years. I am going to skip it this year. The price is getting higher and the potatoes they add to the ingredients are getting bigger. I'm afraid this year will be a tamale filled with potato and no meat.
This is even wider than the loads they took through HWY 95 in lower Benewah County the last time. Those barely fit on the road here where we have old narrow 2 lane, delayed an ambulance, and had their outlying trucks run people off the road. While sometimes they warned other truckers it was inconsistent so regular commerce suffers. No matter what you think about the tar sands, if you care about your community you don't want these guys on your narrow roads. Their arroganc, and that of ITD, is insufferable.
I'm not sure if this makes sense. Even though he can be saved by this, he will need to take immune suppressants for the rest of his life, which will make it more precarious. Also, I wonder if the problem with his liver won't affect the new part of his liver and the deterioration wouldn't be accelerated by the immune suppressant drugs?
We all have to die sometime. I'm a lot older than he is, may have a similar problem and expect a diagnosis shortly. But I couldn't imagine asking someone else to do this for me.
Free market capitalism at work.
Just like cabbage or onions.
It's a dying industry Mrs Anderson... Because YOU KILLED IT. HOW F%$?&NG ARROGANT ARE YOU? Sitting on a personal fortune amount around 335 MILLON DOLLARS, you prentend to be charitable giving scraps (about 165$ per sealer) to people YOU bankrupted!!!!!!!
You are the barbarian! You are inhumane! I hate you!
I wonder how many people know that cows aren't supposed to eat corn? This produces an unhealthy, unnatural animal that we seem to completely ignore.
