Re: “The World and Works of the Nelson Brothers

The Nelson friends of Goshen New Hampshire talk from practical knowledge; they did work towards a town, and these people engaged with prolific labors seeing that writers as well as artists. The Nelson loved ones lived in the small outlying community, where the three older boys—Walter, Arthur, as well as Elmer—helped with haying as well as sugaring, grew vegetables, as well as loved to hunt. The family unit subscribed to the popular teen periodical The Youths’ Associate and held “lyceums” in your own home.

Re: “Duolingo

Bill is right about the success of Esperanto the international language. The World Esperanto Association now enjoys consultative relations with the United Nations.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR7vD9kChBA&feature=related

During a short period of 124 years Esperanto is now in the top 100 languages, out of 6,800 worldwide. It is the 22nd most used language in Wikipedia, ahead of Danish and Arabic. It is a language choice of Firefox, Ubuntu and Facebook. Google translate has also the language due to popular demand.

Esperanto is a living language - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsb4Jf8f4BI

Re: “Duolingo

It's really good to see that Duolingo have added Esperanto. For those who don't know, Esperanto is a planned language which belongs to no one country or group of states. I would like to see it more widely used.

Re: “Ayn Rand Does Kids Lit

"... a synthesis of John Locke and Cliven Bundy, but with fewer scruples" is, perhaps, the best summary of Ayn Rand that I have ever come across. Bravo!

Re: “Ayn Rand Does Kids Lit

Rand is the patron saint of the ‘Me, My, Mine’ obsessed, which includes those that have barely crawled above the level of the great apes that came before homo-sapiens.

This low level of awareness functions relatively well in an economic and social system that is based on ‘survival of the fittest’, which in the AR cult means ‘survival of the most adept parasite’.

Her concept of ‘ethical egoism’ is obviously an oxymoron and along with ‘enlightened self-interest’, and ‘trickle down’ horsesh*t, only serves to identify the users as the self-centered simians that they are.

Just because a sizable cult has formed around Rand’s simplistic philosophy doesn’t mean that it has any more legitimacy than any of the other absurd cults that have been concocted over the millennia.

Just like the unsubstantiated beliefs adhered to by countless numbers of religious cult subscribers, the beliefs held by Rand cult members will blind them to the expansion of their awareness, since continuing to believe those beliefs allows them to continue their selfish, egoistic approach toward others.

Their circular logic allows them to see their parasitic behavior as a win/win situation since, after all, everyone is acting selfishly.

It’s Just Survival of the Hyper-Egoist.

Re: “Ayn Rand Does Kids Lit

Ha Ha. You can lie about Ayn Rand and misrepresent her ideas all you want, but you can’t ignore the fact that her books are selling over half a million copies per year 30 years after her death. People who have read and understand her new philosophy are not fooled.

Re: “Ayn Rand Does Kids Lit

One sign of this article's intellectual dishonesty: The absence of any quotations from Ayn Rand. Rather, the author just parrots what some other Ayn Rand haters say. They try to scare off potential readers of Ayn Rand because they fear anyone discovering that what she has to say about them is true. But Ayn Rand is not just about criticizing what needs to be criticized. Rather she offers a full-function philosophy for living a happy life in a free society. As the previous commenters have recommended, read her yourself; then you can decide on your own what articles like this say about Ayn Rand's opponents.

Your first sentence displays your intellectual capacity in a nut shell and you know what they say about things that can be described in a nut shell? They probably belong there

Re: “Ayn Rand Does Kids Lit

This is one malicious screed of misinformation that references another. Those who practice this sort of ad hominem attack against Ayn Rand say nothing accurate about her philosophy yet reveal much about their own character. I second Zach Kauble's recommendation to read Ayn Rand's works yourself and reach your own conclusion. You should also search online for "The Ayn Rand Lexicon" for more information.

Re: “Ayn Rand Does Kids Lit

This is a shameful, sad, little hit piece...nothing more.

To learn about Ayn Rand's ideas, read her own words...start w/ Anthem and work your way up to Atlas Shrugged. Google "Ayn Rand Lexicon" to see what she actually said concerning issues of our time.

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

Wow, three bad reviews over three months and then magically almost one year later 9 excellent ones all within 24 hours. Dude, just cause you have 9 friends that like you doesn't mean that you are doing a good job. Sorry Bro.

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

My husband Barton and I were out on the town on our cruisers one night, and my chain exploded. It was past due for replacement, my bad. We called Andrew and he was there within 20 minutes, it took him 10 to repair, and we were off and rolling again in no time. If you want to count on a Wrench when you are stranded or otherwise, count on Andrew of Got Fixed!

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

In response to an above comment. The competence in wheel building issue:
It's not that he doesn't know what he's doing it's that he knows it in and out. Wheel building can be as simple as throwing it together and making it feel even and hoping for the best. Sadly this happens a lot, but never with him. There are lots of variables. Manufacturer model, size, etc. He's not just putting together an ok rim he's putting together a perfect rim. Andrews rims hold true pun not intended.

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

We were stranded with a flat once, had a belt snap and thought we'd have to take a cab to get the bike home. Called Got Fixed? and he was there/fixed the tire and we were back on our way in 25 minutes. I recommend him to all my friends.

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

Andrew has done me good. I needed a tune up done on my cruiser and flat repair and he came directly to my house and made my cruiser ride ready. Definitely will be using his services again.

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

Andrew Little has done a lot of small and large bike work for me over the years, single handed and busy but striving to do the most quality and speedy work possible. He most recently built me a custom touring bike which I have been riding cross country. The most beautiful and solid bike I've ever owned! A true craftsman and passionate artist in the way of cycling!

Re: “Got Fixed? Mobile Bike Repair

He's amazingly helpful and smart. He custom built me a bike and has helped with repairs (flats mostly) and updates since. He answers all of my questions and has always helped me better understand bikes, bike safety, and repairs.
