Re: “Video: Shrine Circus Met With Protests... Again

Although the issues regarding circus animal cruelty have gained much-needed attention in recent years, circus animals still suffer from lives of prison-like confinement, social deprivation and violent methods of training.

There has been a strong focus on the abuse of elephants for several decades, with Ringling Bros. finally agreeing to stop using them in their circus acts, but similar abuse still exists for the remaining animals used by Ringling and many other circuses.

Circus animals do not willingly stand on their heads, jump through rings of fire, or ride bicycles. They don’t perform these tricks because they want to and they don’t do any of these meaningless acts in their natural habitat. The ONLY reason circus animals perform is because they are scared of what will happen to them if they don’t.

The circus would like people to think that these intelligent and sentient creatures perform because they are positively reinforced with food, praise etc. There is no such thing as positive reinforcement for animals in the circus - only varying levels of punishment, neglect, and deprivation.

It’s good to see more people waking up to this abuse, but unfortunately most are still willfully ignorant about this horrific situation.

Re: “Idaho Assisted Living Facility, Targeted in Prior Investigation, Has License Reinstated

This is one of those news stories that often ends up excluded or on page 59 since it's just a bunch of old farts who have been put out to pasture.

And like everything else now, these assisted living setups have been targeted by greedy entrepreneurs looking to make a killing off guilt ridden relatives and senile old folks.

Nursing homes have a long notorious history of abusing their occupants in a myriad number of ways in order to cream off as much profit as possible.

With an increasing number of Americans living longer, assisted living investors and operators realized they had a virtually unregulated goldmine on their hands, and in characteristic fashion, they’ve milked these operations with delight.

Although some states don’t allow medical care in these facilities, a recent study by Johns Hopkins University researchers found that more than 2/3 of residents are suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia.

The whole Memory Care thing is just an up-charge marketing gimmick to appeal to families of elderly people they can no longer care for, while staff members are generally not well-trained to do dementia care.

This article just scratches the surface:

Re: “Idaho Jobless Rate Drops Again, Now at 3.8 Percent

Come on now!

How often do we have to be subjected to this fallacious crap, produced by the masters-of-bull to lull the sheep into complacency?

This is just wasted news-space unless the goal is to assist the manipulators in their nefarious plan to fool the public into taking on more debt, while the banking parasites siphon off increasing amounts of wealth.

What say we shoot for an ’alternative’ viewpoint to the mainstream doctored statistics and have a feature that focuses on the actual lies, damned lies and statistics that this sort of ‘news’ article puts forward as valid information for public consumption?

As a suggestion, the alternative news item might start out with something like “Here they go again with manipulated employment statistics to fool the good citizens of Idaho one more time………”

And another suggestion is for the news crew to spend a few minutes looking at http://shadowstats.com/ in order to get an idea how far off the mark these phony employment statistics are.

If the news staff is already aware how fallacious these statistics are, then how about adding an emoticon to the news item that basically conveys ‘You’re got to be shi**ing me, this is bull****!”

Article from Time from 1954: "Medicine: Tonsils & Bulbar Polio"

Doctors are pretty well agreed that it is unwise to remove tonsils or adenoids while polio is rampant: within a month or two after such an operation, an invasion by the polio virus is more likely to result in the oftentimes fatal bulbar form of the disease. Last week the A.M.A. Journal called the attention of U.S. family doctors to growing evidence that polio victims who have lost tonsils, adenoids, or both, at any time in their lives, are more susceptible to bulbar and bulbo-spinal attacks. The Journal conceded that the case is not yet proved. (For one thing, doctors can only guess at a possible explanation—that the tonsils and adenoids are part of a defensive mechanism against the invading virus.) But, the editors concluded, the evidence is enough to make surgeons pause once again before they cut out tonsils, and ask: "Is this operation really necessary?"

Re: “Lewiston Tribune: Whooping Cough Break-Out in Idaho County

1942 article from Time Magazine:

Five of the six children of an Akron family had their tonsils out one day last summer and within 48 hours all five came down with infantile paralysis. Three of them died. The sixth child did not contract paralysis. There had been no epidemic of the disease in Akron and none followed. A group of researchers from the University of Michigan, Western Reserve University and Akron's Children's Hospital investigated this puzzling case, published their findings last fortnight in the A.M.A. Journal. The researchers conclude that in the case of the five paralyzed children the tonsil operation was "the precipitating factor," warn doctors and parents that tonsil operations are dangerous during the poliomyelitis season (summer and fall). Probable connection between tonsillectomies and poliomyelitis: nerves injured by surgery are more susceptible to polio infection, so that the latent virus could travel readily from the injured throat nerves to the medulla oblongata, where the spinal cord enters the brain.

Polio Danger Noted In Tonsil Removal

New York Times, May, 13th, 1946

The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis warned parents yesterday to avoid, if possible, the removal of children’s tonsils before and during the hot summer months when poliomyelitis was most prevalent.

The foundation, with headquarters at 120 Broadway, cited results
of a recent study to support its contention that July, August and
September were unfavorable for such operations in relation to possible polio infection.

The study was made at the Medical School of the University of Utah under the sponsorship of the foundation’s Salt Lake County chapter. Infection among children during the 1943 polio epidemic in Utah in relation to prior tonsillectomies was analyzed.

Children between 3 and 16 years’ old were found to be 2.62 times more vulnerable to polio infection after a recent tonsillectomy than the general child population. The group was also discovered to be “sixteen times more vulnerable to a more severe type of polio infection than the average.”

Re: “Lewiston Tribune: Whooping Cough Break-Out in Idaho County

We always hear, "oh this generation is too young to remember how horrible polio was". But, likewise, this generation is too young to remember all the DDT trucks spraying everything and everybody. Also, most every kid used to have their tonsils yanked out, almost like getting their hair cut. Come to find out, tonsils were/are a pretty darn important part of our immune system. Furthermore, the exposed and damaged nerve area from the removal site allowed polio to enter the body much easier.

(Mainstream study documents vaccine causing mutation, spreading of whooping cough):

Acellular pertussis vaccination enhances B. parapertussis colonization

"....vaccination led to a 40-fold enhancement of B. parapertussis colonization in the lungs of mice.....these data suggest that the vaccine may be contributing to the observed rise in whooping cough incidence over the last decade by promoting B. parapertussis infection."

(More CDC admissions that the vaccine is causing bacteria to mutate):

(Excerpt): Unnervingly, C.D.C. scientists speculate that the current vaccine may be helping to drive the bugs evolution. The fact that this happened so quickly, to the proportions we're seeing now, clearly suggests some selective pressures. Vaccine pressure is probably one of them, Lucia Pawloski, a whooping-cough expert at the C.D.C., told me. Think of mice that are hard for cats to see; they might proliferate if cats were introduced to their environment and started eating all the easy-to-see mice. Similarly, bugs that might be less visible to the immune system could spread in response to the vaccine.

(Whooping cough vaccine is causing bacteria to mutate):

In the latest study, researchers analysed the genes coding for the proteins on the surface of the pertussis bacterium responsible for the UK outbreak. They found proteins being targeted by the vaccine were mutating at a faster rate than other surface proteins not included in the vaccine. Potentially it means the bacteria is changing quickly to get around immune system's defences put in place with immunisation.

Re: “Lewiston Tribune: Whooping Cough Break-Out in Idaho County

I suppose we could try for natural herd immunity. Just let everyone take their chances. Of course, when your newborn infant becomes one an unfortunate casualty of pertussis because nature deemed them too weak to fight off the infection, well, then you may sing a different tune. Perhaps you should ask your grandparents or great-grandparents what life was like with the threat of polio, measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, diphtheria, and the like looming over their head. Maybe we have all become a bit too spoiled with the lives vaccines have given us. Maybe we need a brutal reminder of how good we have it.

Both the pertussis and measles vaccines are clearly FAILING. There are reasons for this. Natural herd immunity is clearly the ONLY answer that ever was.

Re: “Lewiston Tribune: Whooping Cough Break-Out in Idaho County

Since your link seems to contain no credible/peer reviewed sources on it, let me assist you in that matter. Below are three peer reviewed journal articles with regard to this topic.

http://cvi.asm.org/content/21/2/119.full

http://ssu.ac.ir/cms/fileadmin/user_upload/Moavenatha/MBehdashti/Pishgiri_Bimariha/Quinlan_2014_Molecular-and-Cellular-Probes.pdf

http://www.pnas.org/content/111/9/3213.full

The general consensus of all of these is that yes, variants of the bacteria causing Whooping Cough exist. Yes, these variants do seem to be resistant to current vaccines as they are missing the protein the vaccine uses to attack the organism. No, it is not CERTAIN that these variants were created because of the existing vaccine. Yes, it is possible that the current vaccine promoted the organism to select for these mutations.

Does this mean all vaccines are the evil and the anti-vaxxers win? No, what is happening with Whooping Cough is something that happens naturally with every organism. It’s called natural selection. In this case, the bacteria experienced a beneficial mutation that allowed it to persist even when the host was vaccinated. As such, it was able to spread and reproduce. Mutation is something micro-organisms are particularly good at. The only thing we can do is adapt with it. We need to update the vaccine to account for the new strain.

Re: “Lewiston Tribune: Whooping Cough Break-Out in Idaho County

(Excerpt): "We've had several positive cases here in our community, Wilson told the Tribune, adding the outbreak was occurring in families with children who aren't vaccinated. (end excerpt)

Please provide the exact breakdown of vaccinated vs unvaccinated.

The comment was very vague.

Does this mean 10 were fully vaccinated and one wasn't?

PLEASE quit falsely blaming the unvaccinated for a failed vaccine - a vaccine that's actually making matters worse because it's mutating the bacteria into a more virulent form.
