That's cool - wish I could get along with all the Repugnicans I have encountered here in Laguna Hiils California....
Actually, the show is this Saturday the 16th!
listen to the album in its entirety here: www.matthopper.com
I saw them at Mootsy's in Spokane. Don't miss this show! Actually, only one of the females screams, but she takes the head of the microphone in her mouth, and then lets go. Awesome.
Yeah, Wes Malvini informed me of that after the story ran. Sorry about that.--Ben Schultz
Loving this new Blind Boys video. Definitely worth a listen. http://smarturl.it/BBofAJVernon
For the Record, Grandmas House was a long established and influential house venue ran by Kim B. and Tyler Scott long before Wes Malvini ever arrived in Boise or put his foot on the front porch. Check your facts Weekly!
The disappointment in what owners Mitch and Christine have done to the original "Red Room" is bottomless. They transformed the iconic and much adored shotgun bar on Main Street into an unfathomable parade of insufferable pretentiousness with a resounding lack of foresight, all in an attempt to expand their insatiable quest for a lucrative enterprise in an industry they know next to nothing about. The mark they have left on their patrons, the bands they've hosted, and the employees that they've shown little regard for, is unsavory at best.
So congratulations Mitch, for destroying a place that many fondly called home and would have gladly continued despite the ownership change. Your kamikaze business strategies are not what this city needs or wants. Before you attempt to capture another market and bury it in the ground with you, reflect on this experience and realize that the impact that you have is widespread, and in your case, severely damaging to your clientele and the individuals under your employ. These are lives and experiences, and you are not enriching either.
Did you notice the guy in the cowboy hat is flippin' the bird? Ha!

I knew Sammy Johns the old days, I just found out he died in January, because I was looking for a recording of Rag Doll. I wrote with Sammy for a while and then one day he asked me to leave because one of our buddies who was bumming money from him told him I was a witch.I really got a laugh out of that, but sadly Sammy believed him and I never saw him again. That same buddy stole 5 of my songs on "Rollin on Down the Road" a year or so later. I just looked Sammy up and found out about his demise, and was shocked sad. He was a good bird hunting while I knew him in North Georgia. I took him to all my favorite hunts. He sure must of been afraid of witches, I always thought that it was real Mark Twainy of him. He was in fact a real good person- at least what I knew of him. One day he sang rag doll for me while we were writing and talking bull - i suppose and it was the best song he ever sang; he did it perfect. Great song man I wish I could meet you some day. If you ever come to NC, drop by the Greystone Inn, I am there as scheduled. until Thanksgiving. Your Friend at heart,
Loved the concert!
One of the dullest reviews I've ever read. It doesn't even try to make a point. Well, apart from saying that this is chaos and noise; which is neither wrong or right, is just a extremely tenuous argument. Everything he says could be easily said for thousands of metalcore albums. The review is extraordinarily simplistic and the reviewer fails in reviewing THIS album in particular. And of course naively assumes that noisy sounds (just usual low-tuned distorted guitars, actually) have no artistic dignity whatsoever.
I heard that 3 Sides had an impromptu reunion the other night that went so well that they're considering doing a full-fledged reunion.
Edit: Replace 'departure' with 'firing'.
Drinking whiskey in a bathroom stall, that's my girl!
Totally see SBS "going the distance"!!
TMP's participation in this show will include the TMP dancers reuniting with Preservation Hall Jazz Band for an onstage improvisation in the spirit of New Orleans and the jazz legacy that PHJB is known for, (the two ballets will not be a part of the show).
Trey McIntyre Project is supporting the film project with a kickstarter project that ends this Friday. Take a look and become a part of the project: www.treymcintyre.com/kickstarter
