Posted By on Tue, Mar 9, 2010 at 2:18 PM

Registration opens today for the Downtown Boise Association’s annual State of Downtown meeting, which takes place Thursday, April 15, at the Boise Centre on the Grove from 7:30-9 a.m. This year’s keynote speaker will be David Agnew, Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and the White House liaison to City Mayors.

According to the White House Web site, the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs is tasked with working “closely with state, tribal and local officials elected by the American people to ensure America's citizens and their elected officials have a government that works effectively for them and with them.”

Agnew, the brother of South Carolina State Representative Paul Agnew, said in an interview on Entrepreneur.com: "This is about changing the world at the grass roots level," Agnew said. "City halls are at the grassroots level."
