Did You Get Your F-35 Post Card?

Posted By on Mon, Apr 5, 2010 at 12:50 PM

Did you get your post card from Rep. Mike Simpson? If you weren’t one of the 7,000 on Simpson’s mailing list here’s what you missed: The Rep. wants you help bring some fighter jets to Idaho (the post card had a checkbox if you support the mission, but no option to oppose it).

If you add your voice to the corporate and multi-agency chorus of F-35 lovers you may one day be able to gaze into the sky and catch a glimpse of a jet touted as the latest and greatest air-to-air and air-to-ground fighter jet.

Its a bird, its a plane ...
  • U.S. Air Force
  • It's a bird, it's a plane ...

A little FYI about the jet from a slick promotional website: It sports an advanced airframe and unsurpassed autonomic logistics, avionics, propulsion, firepower and stealth capabilities that, “will insure [sic] that the F-35 is the most affordable, lethal, supportive and survivable aircraft ever to be used,” according to the Department of Defense.

Bitten by the brawn of the F-35? Sen. Jim Risch is.

Or maybe you’re a peace lover or a seeker of serenity who wants other kinds of details? Maybe you're just wondering what’s up with those F-35 Idaho lottery tickets?

Either way, you can get more answers in the upcoming issue of Boise Weekly or ask some questions of your own at an informational meeting tonight.

Bring your F-35 queries to a meeting with representatives from the military, city and concerned citizens groups. It all happens tongiht April 5 at 7 p.m. at Owyhee Elementary School, 3434 Pasadena Drive.
