Kristin's Sign of Her Times

Posted By on Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 10:17 AM

Induction into the Idaho Hall of Fame. A big whoop-de-do at the downtown YMCA. And a bikeway named in your honor. Not bad for a Thursday evening.

Last night, July 15, the Kristin Armstrong Bikeway was officially designated with new signs lining an eight-mile stretch of Bogus Basin Road.

It's the same eight-mile path that Armstrong used to prepare for her gold medal performance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Tomorrow (Saturday, July 17), kids age 5 to 10 are invited to ride with the gold medalist during the 24th Annual Twilight Criterium. The ride begins at 3 p.m. downtown Boise at the corner of Ninth and Main streets. Parents need to register their kids online at and then check in on Saturday, starting at 2 p.m.

The kids' ride kicks off this year's Criterium, which has a full slate of races running well past sundown.
