When does summer end? September 22? Labor Day Weekend? For tens of thousands of Boise kids and parents, it was early this morning when their alarm clocks rang—many for the first time since May).

The 2010-11 school year is officially underway for the Boise School District. Nine elementary schools (Amity, Hawthorne, Hillcrest, Lowell, Madison Early Childhood Center, Morley Nelson, Shadow Hills, Riverside and Whittier) are beginning their school day a bit later this year—at 9:15 a.m.—to allow for a staggered bus schedule, which the district says will save money.
