1.6 Percent Voter Turnout In Boise School Election

There are more than 25,000 children in the Boise School District, which has a budget is $188 million dollars. Yet only about 3,000 people showed up on Tuesday to vote in the Boise School Board election.

The top vote-getter was Joan Boren (1,310 votes) who has a background in zoology and biology and has taught and tutored in the Boise school system.

Incumbent Trustee Rory Jones won the second open slot with 1,199 votes.

Challenger Cindy Thongren received 548 votes.
