Officials at Mountain Home Air Force Base got word Friday that they have landed a plum assignment.

A Memorandum of Agreement is being drawn up which would see Mountain Home playing host to a squadron of F-15's from the Royal Saudi Air Force. The RSAF squadron is expected to include 12 aircraft, 50 pilots and 100-200 maintenance personnel, some of whom will bring their families. The Saudis are expected to arrive at the base in late 2013, with the bulk arrive in 2014, when the actual training missions will begin. For 12-24 months beforehand, RSAF aircrews and maintenance personnel will undergo English-language training and professional military training at other U.S. Air Force installations.

The training is part of a $60 billion arms package brokered between the United States and Saudis, which will see the F-15s built in the next year.
