ISU Faculty Wants University President Out

Posted By on Sat, Feb 12, 2011 at 12:02 PM

An official statement from Idaho State University administration states, "The vote is what it is."

But the vote, held by ISU faculty, showed a lack of confidence in school president Arthur Vailas and they want him out. The no-confidence vote came in the wake of a 50-page term paper inked by the ISU Faculty Senate Executive Committee. The report, which reads like a research assignment, accused Vailas of lying, poor leadership and organizational failure.

The results of a faculty vote showed 76 percent "lacked faith" in Vailas' leadership.

A statement late Friday from Vailas' office said, "The President enjoys widespread support from other constituencies."
