BVEP Unveiling Economic-Booster Plan Monday

Posted By on Sun, Mar 13, 2011 at 7:46 AM

Clark Krause, who is in his first year as executive director of the Boise Valley Economic Partnership, says his organization has a plan to jump-start the economy.

BVEP has announced a Monday morning event to kick off something called its "Competitive Edge" campaign.

"We need to work toward bringing more jobs, opportunity and investment into our local community," said Krause.

Krause said some of the valley's top business leaders are on board: Micron CEO Steve Appleton, Simplot CEO Bill Whitacre, plus Boise State President Bob Kustra and the mayors of Boise, Caldwell, Eagle, Garden City, Meridian and Nampa.

Following the noontime launch, Krause is scheduled to make a presentation to the Boise City Council on the new initiative.
