The City of Boise awarded nearly $400,000 in neighborhood reinvestment grants today. Twelve capital projects and nine mini-grant projects were announced, including more than $74,000 for historic street lights along Warm Springs Avenue, $65,000 for playground equipment at Peppermint Park, nearly $60,000 for a community garden at Comba Park, and $56,000 for infrastructure, turf and landscape at Somerset Park.

Smaller awards (under $2,000) were granted for website development for the Collister, Central Bench, Morris Hill, Veterans Park and Warm Springs Mesa neighborhood associations.

"This program not only makes Boise more livable, it puts the control in the hands of the neighborhoods where it belongs," said Mayor Dave Bieter.
