Three Northwest employers have agreed to be "trained" for the next three years after being accused of using children as young as 6 years old to pick their strawberries. Additionally, the three farming operations have been fined a total of $73,000.

The Associated Press reported that the U.S. Labor Department found a total of nine underage workers during a child labor investigation at farms in Woodland and Ridgefield, Wash. The department said all three employers removed the underage workers and agreed to the fines and training.
