Mountain Lion Spotted in Kuna

Posted By on Tue, Aug 9, 2011 at 3:02 PM

People living near Ten Mile and King roads in Kuna have been told to use extreme caution; there's a juvenile mountain lion prowling. Kuna Police and Ada County Sheriff's deputies were called to a residence on Ash Street in Kuna, where they spotted a cougar in a tree. As deputies approached, the cat took off into the surrounding bush.

Law enforcement tried tracking the lion for nearly three hours but had no luck. The cat is believed to weigh about 70 pounds and has probably lived in the area for some time, after having been displaced from its natural territory.
