Ehrlick Sentenced to Life in Prison, No Parole

Posted By on Fri, Sep 2, 2011 at 10:45 AM

Daniel Ehrlick, convicted of first-degree murder of 8-year-old Robert Manwill, walked into an Ada County courtroom this morning, wearing a yellow jumpsuit (classifying him as a high-risk inmate). Prosecutor Jill Longhurst told District Court Judge Darla Williamson that Ehrlick needed to spend the rest of his days behind bars.

"This community needs to be protected from him," said Longhurst. "He needs punishment and this community needs protection."

Ehrlick refused to speak on his own behalf.

Ultimately Williamson sentenced Ehrlick to life in prison without a possibility of parole.

Manwill's mother, Melissa Jenkins, is scheduled to be sentenced later this morning.
