Police Investigating Vandalism Along Boise Canal

KIVI is reporting that Boise police are investigating multiple incidents of vandalism on "No Trespassing" signs along a canal in Northwest Boise.

Police were notified by property owners that 15 "No Trespassing" signs and numerous orange property markers were spray-painted over with black spray paint sometime in mid-August, likely between August 18 and 19th.

The vandalized signs are located along the canal from Gary Lane east to near Castle Drive and E. Hill Rd. The Boise Police Neighborhood Contact Officer for the area, Officer Guy Bourgeau says the property damage done to the number of signs makes the crime a felony.

That area of the canal has been historically contentious as it was frequently used illegally by joggers and cyclists before the signs were put in place.
