Clean-Energy Fans Celebrate Moving Planet Day

Posted By on Mon, Sep 26, 2011 at 6:15 PM

As part of the Moving Planet Day initiative on Sept. 24, hundreds of clean-energy advocates hopped on their bikes and donned colorful costumes hoping to send a message to Idaho lawmakers. Their parade circuit ran through Boise's downtown so that this protest on wheels would pass by Idaho Power's corporate headquarters and the Idaho State Capitol.

With a model of a wind turbine being towed behind the cyclist at the head of the pack, and a model of a coal plant bringing up the rear, the group hoped that this would be a symbolic message of how people need to move away from using coal and move toward renewable energy sources.

As is tradition with 350.org events, the contributors met after the ride to form "350" on the Capitol steps.

Can you make out the 350?
