One thing for certain will not be closed this Christmas-the region's gas pumps as thousands of Idahoans fill up the tank before they fill up on holiday cheer.

AAA Idaho reported this week that compared to a year ago, we're paying about 25 cents more per gallon, but the good news is that pump prices have dropped recently to their lowest levels since February. Idaho's average price this morning is $3.18 for unleaded, 4 cents lower than the national average. On average, Idaho prices have dropped about 25 cents in the past 30 days.

The lowest prices in Idaho this weekend are being posted in eastern Idaho, with approximate costs of $2.94 per gallon. The highest prices are listed in Hailey, where one station was reportedly charging $3.55 per gallon.

AAA is predicting that idaho will see an approximate 2 percent increase in auto travel this Christmas weekend, compared to 2010.
