Santorum Reports Surge in Campaign Donations

Idahoans, who will have two opportunities to see Rick Santorum on Tuesday—one in Coeur d'Alene and another at Boise's Capital High School—should expect some fighting words from the former Pennsylvania senator. In particular, they should hear a fair amount of anti-Romney rhetoric.

Santorum went on the attack Sunday, calling Mitt Romney "desperate."

"You reach a point where desperate people do desperate things," said Santorum on ABC's This Week.

Santorum was shooting back at the former Massachusetts governor for calling Santorum a "longtime Washington insider."

Santorum served 16 years in Congress, first in the U.S. House and then in the Senate.

Following last Tuesday's wins in Colorado, Missouri and Minnesota, Santorum's campaign has reported a surge in donations, including $3 million in the three days following the hat trick. That's a signficiant improvement over December, when Santorum reported just $279,000 in the bank compared with Romney's $19.9 million.
