Redistricted Rupert Lawmaker Won't Seek Re-election

Posted By on Tue, Feb 14, 2012 at 3:10 PM

Rupert Republican Rep. John "Bert" Stevenson is the latest legislator to announce that he'll be walking away from the Idaho Statehouse.

Chairman of the House Resources and Conservation Committee, Stevenson announced earlier this week that he wouldn't be running for a ninth term in the House. In addition to Resources, Stevenson serves on the House Agriculture Affairs and State Affairs committees.

Stevenson, who currently represents District 26, was redistricted over to the newly redrawn District 27, home to Republican Reps. Scott Bedke and Fred Wood, who have already indicated that they will seek re-election.
