LeFavour Poised for Congressional Run

Posted By on Sat, Mar 10, 2012 at 7:26 AM

A number of last-minute candidate filings came into the office of the Secretary of State on Friday in anticipation of the May 15 primary runoff.

Perhaps the most interesting came from Boise Democratic Sen. Nicole LeFavour, who has decided to run for Congress, representing Idaho's 2nd Congressional District, currently held by Republican Rep. Mike Simpson (who is running for re-election). LeFavour will face a Democratic runoff against Jack Chappell of Buhl and Eldon Wallace of Boise.

LeFavour is stepping away from her position in Boise's Legislative District 19, which will be contested by Democratic Rep. Cherie Buckner-Webb, who is expected to face off against Republican Paul O'Leary in November.
