New Plan Could Prevent Water Shortage Crisis in Twin Falls

Posted By on Mon, Jun 25, 2012 at 9:03 AM

Less than a month after its city's water supply fell to critically low levels, resulting in the temporary shutdown of a number of businesses, the Twin Falls City Council will consider new fixes today that could solve its water storage problem.

This morning's Twin Falls Times News reports that Twin Falls Public Works Director Jon Caton has a multiple-stage plan, including the installation of new backup generators and a new water storage facility.

Three weeks ago, a windstorm knocked out power to much of Twin Falls, including its water facility. Major industries had to go dark as Idaho Power worked to restore power to the city's water pumps.
