Obama Hails SCOTUS Health Care Ruling; Romney Says They Got It Wrong

Posted By on Thu, Jun 28, 2012 at 11:25 AM

President Obama hailed the Supreme Court's decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act as Republican opponent Mitt Romney dubbed the ruling "incorrect."

Speaking at a midday news conference, Obama outlined details of what the ACA would do for people with insurance and those without.

"Whatever the politics, today's decision was a victory for people all over this country," said Obama. "This idea has enjoyed support from members of both parties, including the current Republican nominee for president."

As the governor of Massachusetts, Romney signed a law that required all the state's residents to have health coverage.

Speaking earlier, Romney said he would repeal the Affordable Care Act.

"Our mission is clear, if we want to get rid of Obamacare, we are going to have to replace President Obama," said Romeny. "That is our mission. That is our work."

The Romney campaign raised more than $100,000 online within 60 minutes of the Supreme Court's ruling. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee also sent out an email asking its supporters to donate.
