Video: How Would You Do on a Citizenship Test?

Happy Fourth of July. Now, may we see your credentials?

Twenty-five Treasure Valley residents proudly swore their allegiance to the United States on June 23, in front of hundreds of onlookers, as they became America's newest citizens. Each had left behind their homelands, some from Africa, some from Asia, to be resettled by the U.S. State Department in Idaho in order to start a new life.

In addition to learning our language and customs, each also had to pass a citizenship test, crafted by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The questions include American history, governance and geography.

In this week's BW, we examine what it takes to become an American. Plus, we share the test with you. How would you do if you were required to answer questions about the U.S. Constitution, Congress, Federalist Papers and the supreme law of the land?

We asked a few Boiseans some of the questions and more than a few struggled:
