Boise Police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of breaking into a downtown building, stealing two laptop computers and a DeWalt drill.

Law enforcement believes the break-in occurred either the evening of July 8 or the morning of July 9. The items, totaling $2,300 in value, went missing from two businesses that share office space in the 800 block of West Fulton Street.

Boise Police sent out a release with security footage of the suspect, a man shown carrying three bags near a brick building.

Not long after, the local bar and nightclub China Blue posted a lengthy post on its Facebook wall offering a reward for positive identification of the thief. That post was shared more than 1,000 times, and received more than 100 comments.

"I'm offering $500 cash, $1,000 bar tab for the positive identification of this person," wrote China Blue owner Ted Challenger.

Challenger wrote that the victim was his accountant, and said that as a single mother, the theft set her "way back."

BPD asks for any information related to the theft be directed to Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS, or at 343cops.com, with a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
