Terry Gestrin Replaces Ken Roberts on November Ballot for Idaho House 8A

Terry Gestrin will replace Ken Roberts on the Tuesday, Nov. 6, ballot as the Republican candidate in the race for Idaho House of Representatives District 8A.

Gestrin, a former Valley County commissioner, was picked over Boise County GOP Chairman John Blattler in an 18-15 vote of the District 8 Republican Committee. Blattler ran unsuccessfully against Roberts in the May GOP primary, receiving only 30 percent of the vote to Roberts' 45 percent. Roberts' convincing win came in spite of Blattler's endorsement from House Majority Leader Mike Moyle.

Roberts resigned from his House position last week, which he held for 12 years, when Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter appointed him to the Idaho Tax Commission.

Gestrin will face Democratic opponent Karla Miller in this November's general election.
