Boise Firefighter Killed Responding to Elmore County Medical Call

Vance Baldwin, 52, was killed  in an Elmore County ATV accident on Aug. 27.


Boise firefighters are mourning the death of a 19-year veteran of the force. Vance Baldwin, 52, was killed July 27 in an ATV accident in Elmore County as he was on his way to an ambulance station in response to a medical call.

When Baldwin wasn't on duty at Boise Fire Station No. 14, he also served as a volunteer for the Pine-Featherville Volunteer Ambulance District. During his career, Baldwin also served at the Boise Airport Rescue Fire Station.

Baldwin is survived by a wife and daughter.

A private memorial service is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 3.
