Lewiston Tribune: 'Moscow Rapidly Running Out of Water'

Posted By on Fri, Aug 17, 2012 at 9:16 AM

This morning's Lewiston Tribune reports that the City of Moscow has a big water problem: "Moscow is rapidly running out of water."

Moscow's main well was taken offline in June for repairs—diminishing the city's water supply by 40 percent—and according to the Tribune, the repairs won't be completed for several weeks.

Currently, Moscow can produce approximately 4.5 million gallons of water per day if it is pumping around the clock, Moscow water managers told the Tribune. But in July, Moscow registered a 4.17 million gallon average daily use.

Meanwhile, city officials are mulling whether to institute mandatory restrictions.
