Ada P&Z to Hold Special Dyamis Meeting Oct. 25

The Ada County Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled a special meeting for Thursday, Oct. 25, to consider petitions requesting a public hearing on the controversial Dyamis project.

Dynamis, which signed an agreement with Ada County to build a waste-to-energy facility, is the subject of a formal investigation into whether there is enough evidence to support a criminal case against the company and Ada county commissioners who gave a green light to the project.

A former FBI agent has been appointed by the Ada County Sheriff's Office and Ada County Prosecutor Greg Bower to look into allegations that county commissioners broke open meeting laws when entering into a $2 million deal with Dynamis in June 2010. The inquiry, which began in September, is expected to take two months.

Additionally, Hidden Hollow Energy has filed a $30 million tort claim against the county, stating that the Dynamis deal is a breach of its existing contract with the county.
