Idaho State Police Respond to Domestic Violence Call Near State Park

Idaho State Police late Sunday launched a search for a woman, the suspected victim of an attack near Massacre Rocks State Park along the Snake River in Power County.

Law enforcement responded to a report of a woman attacked by two men on Interstate 86 at milepost 28 , near the entrance to the park. State troopers initiated what they called a high-risk traffic stop on I-86 in Cassia County, where they detained two male suspects. But the female was not located inside the vehicle.

Because of sub-freezing temperatures and pre-winter weather conditions sweeping into the region, the Power County Search and Rescue team assisted in the search for the woman. A short time later, she was located in her Pocatello home with visible injuries.

State Police said the investigation continues, and the names of the parties involved in the incident have not been released.
