Christmas Forecast: Mild in Treasure Valley, Wild Weather Elsewhere

Posted By on Thu, Dec 20, 2012 at 9:37 AM

Holiday travelers and revelers are keeping a close watch on the Christmas forecast, and while meteorologists say Idaho's mountain communities should have plenty of snow for skiiers and boarders, the Treasure Valley should see relatively mild weather for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The National Weather Service Office in Boise predicts partly sunny skies for Dec. 24, with highs in the mid 30s and lows in the low 20s. Dec. 25 should see partly sunny skies with a high near 35.

Meanwhile, a powerful weather system continues to bring significant, widespread effects in the form of blizzard conditions, severe thunderstorms and damaging winds to the central United States, while still another storm is beginning to impact the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.
