The December 20, 2012 bus crash killed nine and injured 38 more.
  • Nine people died and 38 were injured in this Dec. 30 bus crash on Interstate 84.

Alleging that the driver "was fatigued and failed to heed warnings," a Washington law firm has filed a lawsuit against the owner of Mi Joo Tour and Travel in the wake of a Dec. 30 bus crash on an icy stretch of I-84 that killed nine and injured 38 more.

The bus crashed through a guard rail and plunged 200 feet down an eastern Oregon embankment, throwing some passengers through broken windows of the bus.

The suit, announced this morning by a Tacoma, Wash., law firm, was filed on behalf of two boys who were injured in the crash.

The suit alleges that the driver, who also doubled as a tour guide, "continuously without relief over the first eight days of a tour package, violated federal regulations governing the maximum allowable time on-duty and driving.”

Mi Joo Travel, headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., confirmed shortly after the crash that the bus was en route from Las Vegas to Vancouver and had made a brief stop in Boise.
