Illness Cuts Eastern Idaho School Week Short

Posted By on Wed, Jan 30, 2013 at 9:13 AM

The flu has hobbled one eastern Idaho school district so badly that students in Dubois were told to go home on Tuesday afternoon and not to come back until next week.

Clark County School District officials said more than 37 percent of the student population was out of class due to flu-like symptoms. The district sent children home early on Thursday, Jan. 24, in hopes of better attendance after a long weekend, but illnesses continued on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

School officials said the illnesses have primarily hit elementary and middle-school students.
