Campus security at Lewiston's Lewis-Clark State College are investigating a report of an attack on a female student.

This morning's Lewiston Tribune reports that an email was sent to all students and staff March 4, saying that a woman was assaulted by an man on the evening of Feb. 27. According to the email, the suspect "made an inappropriate comment to the woman, grabbed her hand and placed it on his body in an inappropriate manner." When the alleged victim reached for some Mace, the suspect fled on foot.

An LCSC spokesman told the Tribune that campus officials were not notified of the incident until March 3.

Lewiston Police said the woman declined to file a report but the woman's father contacted LCSC security, launching an on-campus investigation.

LCSC officials said security officers were making extra campus patrols and additional safety classes would be available to students.
