A Nampa man has a court hearing today after being locked up following a four-hour standoff with police on Sunday.

Patrick Massie, 52, was wanted in connection with a child abuse case, but when officers with Nampa's Criminal Investigation Division came to Massie's home to serve a warrant Sunday, he would not come to the door or let officers into the residence. After law enforcement received information that Massie may have had several firearms in the home, the city's Tactical Response and Crisis Negotiation teams were called to the scene.

Police evacuated nearby homes while negotiators continued to talk to Massie by phone. Ultimately, he surrendered peacefully and was booked in the Canyon County Jail on a charge of lewd conduct with a minor.
