An Idaho man facing federal charges after being accused of slapping a toddler aboard a Delta Airlines flight in February is expected to be back in court today.

Atlanta's WAGA-TV reports that a U.S. Attorney representative confirmed that a pre-trial conference is expected to commence Tuesday afternoon.

60-year-old Mark Hundley of Hayden surrendered to the FBI after being accused of slapping the toddler Feb. 8 on a Delta flight from Minneapolis to Atlanta, allegedly telling the child's mother to shut that [racial slur] baby up." Hundley was fired from his position as president of Unitech Composites and Structures in Hayden following the incident, which made national headlines.

On March 20, Hundley's attorney said her client was traveling to Atlanta in order to take his only child off life support after his son had overdosed on insulin. She said that Hundley was distraught during the flight.

But the child's adopted mother, Jessica Bennett, said she wanted Hundley to pay for what he allegedly said and did to her son.

"We hope he is punished as much as he possibly can be," said Bennett.
