UPDATE: April 15

The Ada County Coroner's Office confirmed Monday that the body of a man discovered in the Snake River on April 13 was tjat pf 48-year-old Phillip Brown of Boise. The cause of his death was drowning.

Brown went missing after going swimming near the Swan Falls Dam on April 4, triggering a search of the river. His body was discovered downstream from the dam.

Ada County Sheriff's deputies had a very busy day Saturday, what with the arrest of a Meridian teen in connection with a string of bomb threats and an accidental shooting at the Fort Boise Gun Show. And the day concluded with a report of a body discovered in the Snake River.

Emergency dispatch was called just after 5 p.m. to the river, about two miles away from the Swan Falls Dam.

Investigators said it appeared the victim, an unidentified man, had been submerged for an extended period of time. They added that there were no signs of foul play.

Deputies had been searching since early April for a Boise man presumed to have drowned in the Snake River, near where the body was recovered Saturday night. The Ada County Coroner's office is expected to release the identity of the man after his family has been notified.
