In an exercise of administrative musical chairs, the University of Idaho has moved the associate dean of its law school up to the position of interim law school dean while the law school dean moves up as interim president of the university.

The U of I announced Thursday that while the university conducts a search for a replacement for University President Duane Nellis, who quit in March after less than four years to take a job as president of Texas Tech University College of Law Dean Don Burnett assumed the role of interim dean for the university. But Burnett will not be applying to become the permanent dean of the school nor return to his post at the law school.

Instead, the law school's Assistant Dean Michael Satz is taking over as interim dean of the College of Law. Meanwhile the U of I has launched yet another search for a permanent dean of the law school. Satz is expected to return to his post as associate dean when his new boss is selected.
