Post Register: Idaho Falls Could Be Next to Add the Words

The city of Idaho Falls could be next in line to Add the Words.

To date, the cities of Boise, Coeur d'Alene, Ketchum, Moscow, Pocatello and Sandpoint have extended anti-discrimination protections to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals. Now, the Idaho Falls City Council is reportedly working on an ordinance of its own.

The Post Register reports Idaho Falls officials are garnering public comment before taking a vote on a proposed ordinance, sometime later this summer. Council Member Sharon Perry told the Post Register that she would prefer to have the "ordinance wrapped up by Labor Day."

The Post Register reports that opponents and proponents have already weighed in on the issue at Idaho Falls City Hall and comments continue to be welcome in the coming weeks.
