Press-Tribune: Why Was Idaho Horse Park Manager Let Go?

There's a significant difference of opinion surrounding the dismissal of the manager of the Idaho Horse Park in Nampa: The Idaho Center, which oversees the park, says that the horse park's general manager Rodney Orrison was let go do to budgetary reasons. But a Facebook page titled "Rod Orrison is the Idaho Horse Park" said Orrison was "wrongfully fired."

"There are two sides to every story," Idaho Horse Council member Sherri Boardman told the Idaho Press-Tribune. "I know Rod was dismissed and we have some meetings pending to discuss what their thoughts were and why this took place."

Boardman added that Orrison was "an integral part [of the park] and the horse park contributes a lot to the economy of Nampa and is in its growing stages. I personally have a lot of questions."

But Idaho Center General managere Craig Baltzer told the Press-Tribune that Orrison's dismissal "was completely a business move."

"Rod hadn't done anything to require him to be terminated or anything like that," said Baltzer.

The Horse Park plays host to scores of events such as the Horse Expo, dressage events, jumper shows and a number of events surrounding the Snake River Stampede.
