370 firefighting personnel remain committed to the Pine Creek Fire seven miles southwest of Idaho City.

The 1,569 acre blaze saw minimal growth over the past 24 hours and firefighters are expected to spend much of Thursday building fire lines with a bulldozer on the ridge north of the fire. A burnout of the fire is planned from Grimes Creek to Wildcast Gulch.

Eleven 20-person Hotshot crews, nine engines and three helicopters are on the scene.

Meanwhile, Thursday's forecast is even hotter and drier with relative humidity as low as 8 percent. Wilds are forecast to remain calm.

Travelers are again cautioned to beware of smoke and dust in the area and headlights are recommended.
